This position involves entering the status of cleaned rooms, completing checklists to report the cleanliness and condition of assigned areas, and completing required Housekeeping paperwork. The Rooms Inspector identifies room assignments and the type of cleaning required for each room, and inspects guest rooms after they have been cleaned by a Housekeeper. The role requires responding promptly to requests from guests and other departments, and entering guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering. Additionally, the position assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. It also requires adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, completing safety training and certifications, and properly storing flammable materials. Ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets are also key responsibilities. The role involves welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with genuine appreciation. Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards, and identifying, recommending, developing, and implementing new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings are also part of the role. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, supporting the team to reach common goals, and listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees are essential. Speaking with others using clear and professional language is required. The role involves moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance. The ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces is necessary. Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, and standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for an extended period across an entire work shift are also required. Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, is part of the job. Entering and locating work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems, and visually verifying and interpreting written documents are also duties. The position may perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
