This role involves setting up various food and beverage functions, ensuring cleanliness and replenishment of supplies, and handling tables and chairs. The attendant will take food and beverage orders accurately, record transactions, and serve guests efficiently. They will also communicate with the kitchen regarding menu items, wait times, and guest needs, including allergies and dietary restrictions. The role includes loading and unloading carts, preparing and serving food and beverages, delivering room service meals, providing table service in guest rooms, and clearing trays and tables. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware is essential. The attendant will present checks, process payments, and perform all service steps to ensure the best guest experience. They will also interact positively with guests, provide directions, and take responsibility for Mohonk equipment and supplies, preventing loss and abuse. The position requires ensuring proper set-up and replenishment during services like tea and coffee breaks, and inspecting items for quality. Driving and parking vehicles safely, handling hot items with care, and pushing full food carts are also part of the duties. The role requires careful handling of dishes and glassware, navigating stairs and uneven pathways with loaded trays, and working in potentially crowded or noisy conditions. Routine inventory of stock and assisting with training new staff are also expected. The attendant must be able to inspect work for conformance to standards, communicate clearly in English, and hear verbal instructions. Physical requirements include reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, flexing arms, walking stairs/inclines, sitting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Lifting and carrying significant weight over distances is also required. Maneuvering carts with loads up and down stairs, in elevators, and outdoors is necessary. Visual acuity for close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment is needed. Basic mathematical skills for transactions are required. Adherence to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards and maintaining a flexible work schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods, is mandatory.
