About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Team Lead Nutrition/Room Service Ambassador for our Florence Nutrition Services Team. This role involves serving meals to patients in a personalized, professional, and efficient manner, instructing patients on the meal ordering system, assisting them with placing orders, and assessing their capabilities to utilize the system. The ambassador will also communicate with the healthcare team to ensure patient nutritional intake and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions. The position requires delivering and serving patient meals using service excellence standards, utilizing the AIDET model, and demonstrating professional and courteous behavior. Resolving patient meal issues quickly and effectively is crucial. The role also involves introducing and assessing patients to the meal ordering system, understanding diet types and restrictions, recognizing special needs, and providing assistance. Positive communication with nursing unit personnel is necessary for proper glucose monitoring, appropriate menu delivery, timely resolution of patient meal concerns, and special situations. Additionally, the ambassador will inventory, order, and replenish bulk food supplies (floor stocks) on assigned nursing units and maintain effective cash handling and accounting practices for patient guest tray service. Quality aspects include consistent use of proper hand hygiene, isolation procedures, and hair restraints, role-modeling a clean and professional appearance, and compliance with all regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participation in performance improvement studies, data collection, and support of action plans are also part of the role, along with performing other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Serve meals to patient in a personalized, professional, efficient manner
Instructs patients on meal ordering system
Assists patient in placing meal orders
Assesses the patient’s capabilities to utilize the meal order system
Communicates with healthcare team to ensure the patient’s nutritional intake
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Deliver and serve patient meals using service excellence standards.
Utilize the AIDET model when interacting with internal and external customers.
Demonstrate professional and courteous behavior.
Resolve patient meal issues quickly and with a positive outcome.
Introduce and assess patients to meal ordering system, be familiar with diet types and restrictions, recognize special needs of patient and provide assistance.
Communicate positively with assigned nursing unit personnel to facilitate: proper glucose monitoring, appropriate menu delivery, timely resolution of patient meal concerns and special situations.
Inventory, order and replenish bulk food supplies known as floor stocks on assigned nursing unit.
Monitor and maintain effective cash handling and accounting practices regarding patient guest tray service
Consistent use of proper hand hygiene, isolation procedures and hair restraints throughout the room service process.
Role model clean, neat and professional appearance.
Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation and security standards.
Participates in performance improvement (PI) studies, assist with data collection and supports action plans.
