St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Room Service Ambassador to join our Ft. Thomas Nutrition Services Team. This role involves serving meals to patients in a personalized, professional, and efficient manner, instructing them on the meal ordering system, and assisting them with placing orders. The ambassador will assess patients' capabilities to use the system, communicate with the healthcare team to ensure nutritional intake, and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions. Responsibilities include delivering and serving meals according to service excellence standards, utilizing the AIDET model, resolving patient meal issues, introducing patients to the meal ordering system, understanding diet types and restrictions, and recognizing special patient needs. The role also involves positive communication with nursing unit personnel regarding glucose monitoring, menu delivery, and patient concerns, as well as inventorying, ordering, and replenishing floor stock food supplies. Cash handling and maintaining effective cash handling practices are also part of the role. Quality assurance includes consistent use of proper hand hygiene, isolation procedures, and hair restraints, maintaining a professional appearance, and complying with all regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards. Participation in performance improvement studies and data collection is expected. The position requires basic computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and customer service training and skills.
