About The Position

Keswick Hall is an impressive 80-room luxury boutique hotel nestled on 600 acres which recently re-opened in 2021 after renovations. Home to the prestigious Keswick Golf Club, Marigold Restaurant, by Jean-Georges, a new luxury spa and sports and aquatics center. This is a Full Time position requiring Evenings, Weekends. The In-Room Dining Server’s responsibility is to offer prompt, correct, precise and friendly service while accommodating guests’ specific requests and ensuring timeliness of service.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and observe entire dining room.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Fluent English (written, spoken and reading).
  • Strong commitment to service.
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills.
  • Must possess the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts as will involve days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of food service experience.
  • TIPS Certification
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid AED
  • Non-Slip Shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods.
  • Communicates guest orders including any special needs or requests using the hotel’s point-of-sales system and checks completed orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest in a timely manner.
  • Anticipates guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items.
  • Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
  • Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
