About The Position

The room attendant maintains the cleanliness standards of the hotel in all guest rooms, back of house and public areas. This role is responsible for ensuring guest rooms are cleaned to hotel standards, reporting maintenance issues, inspecting rooms, and handling lost and found items. The position also involves working efficiently with team members, greeting guests, following proper procedures for entering and leaving rooms, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of housekeeping areas. The room attendant must also support environmental commitments by understanding and applying "greening" practices in the hospitality industry.

Requirements

US work authorization required
Ability to work as part of a team
Able to work with little or no supervision
Must meet grooming standards
Strong attention to detail as it pertains to cleanliness standards
Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays and at times overtime depending on business needs

Nice To Haves

6 months previous housekeeping experience in hotel/resort or similar – preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Cleans guest rooms up to hotel standards including guest hallways, public areas and back of house areas as needed.
Report any maintenance issues to engineering and or supervisor/manager to address them.
Thoroughly inspects each guest room once it has been cleaned and completed before housekeeping supervisor does a final inspection.
Communicate to Supervisor, Housekeeping Manager or General Manager when recovering any and all lost and found items.
Effectively work with team members to accomplish assigned tasks each day.
Greet each guest that you encounter in the hallways, lobby or public areas with “Good Morning” or “Good Afternoon” or “Good Evening”.
Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
Turn in keys and communication devices to the Housekeeping Department when shift ends.
Follow all instructions when filling spray bottles with cleaning chemicals; never mix chemicals.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage closets, guest laundry areas and corridors.
Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready for work.
Maintain control of keys issued to perform assigned duties.
Work efficiently and as part of the team.

Support environmental commitments by having the knowledge, skills and values to be a leader in the global goal of “greening” the hospitality industry.
Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department Supervisor.
Observe all safety policies and procedures during the execution of assigned duties.
Work in a safe manner to prevent injury to yourself, other staff members or our valued guests.
Properly handle all equipment and cleaning chemicals (i.e. washer, dryer, detergents etc.).
