The Room Attendant (RA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public space areas, and/or work in the commercial laundry facility, in accordance with brand time, product and placement standards to ensure total guest satisfaction. The RA delivers on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards. They respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction. The RA cleans and services assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures, which may include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and cleaning kitchen areas, room refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and dishware. They notify supervisors when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied and report any room unable to be serviced. When assigned to laundry, the RA monitors laundry supplies and equipment, operates washers and dryers, receives soiled linens, inspects for damaged or stained items, and folds and stores clean linens. They minimize waste of supplies and amenities, may assist with deep cleaning projects, and report needed repairs or unsafe conditions. The RA handles all lost and found items according to established procedures and promotes teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. They ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services and perform other duties as assigned.
