About The Position

The Roofing Service Technician is a skilled field professional responsible for investigating, diagnosing, repairing, and resolving residential roofing concerns. This position requires more than the ability to perform a repair. The ideal technician understands roofing systems as a whole and can identify the root cause of leaks, failures, and deficiencies, determine the appropriate corrective action, and complete or recommend a lasting solution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Has strong hands-on knowledge of residential roofing systems, installation, repair, and troubleshooting
  • Approaches service calls with a diagnostic and solution-oriented mindset
  • Can distinguish between symptoms and the actual root cause of a roofing concern
  • Is comfortable making sound technical decisions independently in the field
  • Takes ownership of assigned work and follows concerns through to resolution
  • Demonstrates strong workmanship and attention to detail
  • Communicates technical findings clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Collaborates effectively while remaining self-motivated and productive in the field
  • Recognizes when a repair is sufficient and when a larger corrective solution should be recommended
  • Takes pride in providing a safe, professional, and high-quality customer experience

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of hands-on residential roofing experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of residential roofing systems to identify leaks, damage, installation deficiencies, and potential failure points
  • Diagnose the source and root cause of water intrusion and other roofing concerns
  • Perform roofing repairs, maintenance, and corrective work according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices
  • Inspect shingles, flashing, penetrations, decking, underlayment, ventilation, gutters, siding, and related exterior components
  • Evaluate roof penetrations and roofing components associated with residential solar installations
  • Determine whether conditions can be appropriately repaired or require a larger scope of corrective work
  • Identify workmanship, material, structural, ventilation, or exterior conditions that may be contributing to a concern
  • Develop clear repair recommendations and identify materials, labor, and additional resources required to complete the work
  • Complete quality-control inspections when needed to verify workmanship and identify corrective actions
