About The Position

The ROOF TECHNICIAN will be responsible for repairing and maintenance of various types of roofing systems for both commercial and residential roofing. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The technician must be able to assess damage, perform skilled repairs, work at heights, and ensure that all work is performed to code and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of roofing systems of various residential and commercial roofing materials and installation techniques.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and effectively.
  • Ability to pay attention to quality and safety with a goal of installing correctly and working safely with a willingness to make improvements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work-related documents.
  • Ability to work manual labor in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb, stoop, bend over, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors and clients.
  • Ability to work 8 to 12 hours shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays with travel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months experience in roofing or construction
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have and maintain a good driving record
  • Must pass preemployment drug screening
  • Must be able to work in high places and elevated surfaces
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift/carry up to 50 lb
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools safety, effective, and within proper use

Responsibilities

  • Labor with crew to complete all aspects of jobs assigned by the company, including tear-off, repairs, installation and other jobs as assigned.
  • Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
  • Safely operate tools and equipment such as roofing nailers, ladders, harnesses, and scaffolding.
  • Maintain clean and safe job sites, following OSHA safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Abide by all job-site safety requirements, including PPE, fall protection, OSHA and Company policy safety requirements.
  • Report all situations improperly protected.
  • Participate in weekly trainings and manufacturer system-specific training.
  • Attend all companywide training events and any other training as assigned.
  • Perform work according to company standards.
  • Collaborate with the assigned crew and work for the benefit of all.
  • Mentor less-experienced crew members.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned.
