About The Position

Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial roofs using a variety of materials. Work includes shingling, membrane application, flashing installation and strict adherence to workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

Previous experience in roofing, shingling, or general construction work
Basic knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques and common repair methods
Ability to work at heights, on steep slopes and in varying weather conditions
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual tasks for extended periods
Familiarity with workplace safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment
Ability to read measurements, follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members

Roof installation and repair techniques for shingles, metal and membrane systems
Proficient use of hand and power tools commonly used in roofing
Material estimation, measuring and cutting accuracy
Knowledge of flashing, ventilation and waterproofing details
Strong attention to safety and fall protection practices
Good communication and teamwork skills on construction sites

Responsibilities

Install and replace roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, metal panels, and membrane systems according to specifications
Measure, cut and shape roofing materials and components to ensure proper fit and water-tight installation
Inspect roofs to assess damage, determine repair needs, and prepare material lists and estimates
Install flashing, vents, gutters and roof penetrations to prevent water infiltration
Remove old roofing materials, prepare roof surfaces, and perform site cleanup and debris disposal
Follow established safety procedures, use fall protection equipment and maintain tools and equipment
