About The Position
Simon Roofing is seeking hardworking, safety-minded people for a commercial and industrial roofing role. The company is a national, family-owned business with more than 125 years in the roofing industry and offers steady, year-round work and opportunities for a long-term career. Working with a professional crew, you will install, repair, and maintain commercial low-slope and industrial roofing systems. The work involves using roofing tools and equipment, handling materials, setting up fall protection, and completing jobs safely and efficiently. The role requires outdoor work at heights, physical activity, overtime when needed, and travel with stays out of town for 3–4 weeks at a time. Simon Roofing describes advancement opportunities into lead, foreman, superintendent, safety, operations, and other roles. The position is based in Charleston, West Virginia.
Requirements
- Be hardworking, dependable, and safety-minded.
- Have commercial roofing or related construction experience.
- Be willing to work overtime when needed.
- Be able to travel and stay out of town for 3–4 weeks at a time.
- Be comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
- Have knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and installation practices.
- Have a valid driver's license for company-driving positions.
- Be able to pass the required background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Be able to regularly lift and move 50–100 pounds.
- Be able to climb ladders up to 40 feet.
- Be able to bend, kneel, stand, and work for extended periods.
- Be able to work outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial low-slope and industrial roofing systems.
- Use roofing tools and equipment.
- Handle, load, unload, and move roofing materials and equipment.
- Set up fall protection.
- Help complete roofing jobs safely and efficiently.
- Travel and stay out of town for 3–4 weeks at a time.
