About The Position

This is a Provisional to Permanent position in accordance with Class-Based Test (CBT) Civil Service Rules. This recruitment is restricted to current provisional employees of the City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, or San Francisco City College, working within the 9344 - Roofer Supervisor I classification. Under direction, 9344 - Roofer Supervisor I supervises a group of roofers engaged in applying roofing material and in patching and repairing roofs.

Requirements

  • Must be a Current Provisional Employee in Class 9344 who has worked at least 2,080 hours in Class 9344.
  • Completion of a recognized three and a half (3.5) years (42 - month) Roofer apprenticeship program.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a journey-level roofer.
  • Possession of a valid California driver license.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience as described above may substitute for the required apprenticeship program on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a group of roofers and oversees the maintenance and repair of roofs.
  • Instructs crew regarding safety regulations.
  • Estimates hours, supplies and materials needed for jobs; requisitions materials; creates and maintains records of time worked and materials expended on projects.
  • Oversees the assembling, operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Drives City vehicles to work sites.
