About The Position

Provide mechanical engineering support to the Rolling Mill. This role involves researching and analyzing vendor proposals, coordinating maintenance and repair activities for optimal equipment utilization, and evaluating design modifications to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. The position also includes developing preventive maintenance standards, long-term maintenance planning, and assisting with troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, heat transfer, and combustion systems. The engineer will lead projects with trades and contractors, oversee equipment installation and modification, and develop safety procedures like lockout/tagout.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• Must be knowledgeable with office applications software, AutoCAD, office, Inventor/3D
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Analytical reasoning ability and good judgement for critical operating decisions
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to cooperate and interpersonal skills to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous industrial experience desirable (3 to 5 years)

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze vendor proposals for design or application feasibility
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimal equipment utilization
• Evaluate and recommend design modifications to eliminate equipment malfunctions, improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Create and assist in preventive maintenance standards & solutions
• Perform long-term maintenance planning, purchase spare parts and analyze spare part requirements
• Assist with difficult troubleshooting and recurring problems on mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, heat transfer, and combustion
• Lead with various trade & contractors coordinating projects
• Lead installation and modification of new and existing equipment
• Develop equipment lockout/tagout procedures, continue to improve safety
