About The Position

The Roll Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the safe loading/unloading of paperboard rolls, staging for production needs, and warehouse organization maintaining an accurate, organized, and safe paperboard roll inventory. This role involves verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments involving paperboard roll inventory, and may include preparing items for shipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to utilize software.
  • Ability to read and understand documents and letters.
  • Ability to write legibly in English.
  • Ability to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English.
  • Be a Certified Forklift operator and carry a copy of your certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF equipment.
  • Experience with forklift/clamp truck operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of 5S system.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load/unload paperboard rolls.
  • Stage paperboard rolls for production needs.
  • Organize the warehouse and maintain an accurate, organized, and safe paperboard roll inventory.
  • Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare items for shipment.
  • Unload, receive, label, and put-away all paperboard rolls.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as packing lists, to verify accuracy.
  • Correspond with the buyer to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Utilize RF equipment to ensure all rolls are accurately tracked throughout the warehouse.
  • Monitor the production schedule to ensure proper staging of rolls for consumption on machines.
  • Safely perform all responsibilities in accordance with SCT rules and procedures.
  • Support and contribute to warehouse food safety compliance.
  • Take part in periodic physical inventory events.
  • Maintain organization and safe storage of all paperboard rolls in the roll warehouse and slit roll storage area.
  • Load trucks with outbound paperboard shipments, including Amnicola/Kenco transfers, scrap board, and vendor returns.
  • Review all aspects of the operation and provide recommendations for cost-saving changes to existing processes and procedures.
  • Implement new procedures, train warehouse assistants, and document as standard operating procedure.
  • Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations that add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
  • Perform daily forklift/clamp truck checklists and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting any problems or safety hazards.
  • Monitor equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is performed in a timely manner, including cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with the 5S system, including floors, desks, and fans.
  • Help with duties in other areas or departments when needed.
