About The Position

The Roll Tender/Feeder Operator is responsible for loading the paper into the printing press for production. He also assists in make ready time performing various duties such as cleaning ink fountains, changing plates, and other misilanious duties.

Requirements

Loading the paper into the printing press for production.
Assisting in make ready time performing various duties such as cleaning ink fountains, changing plates, and other miscellaneous duties.
Setting up print jobs according to specifications.
Ensuring printing supplies are available for the next job.
Loading sheet paper or roll paper.
Making adjustments to the feeder for proper paper feeding.
Inspecting color and register to meet quality standards.
Checking layout by ruling out a sheet and checking pagination.
Inspecting paper for damage before loading.
Ensuring the press is in top working order.
Ensuring the press is properly greased and lubricated.
Assisting in changing and setting rollers.
Cleaning the press and performing housekeeping in the press area.

Responsibilities

Assists 1st Pressman in all areas during make ready and production periods.
Helps set up print jobs according to the specifications on the job jacket(Ink, paper, etc.)
Make sure printing supplies are available for the next job on the schedule(plates, paper, ink, coating, etc.)
Loads sheet paper or roll paper for job depending on the press.
Make adjustments to feeder to ensure paper is feeding properly into the machine.
Assists 1st Pressman in making sure quality standards are meet by inspecting color and register
Check lay out by ruling out a sheet and checking pagination.
Inspect paper for damage before loading it into the press.
Assists 1st Pressman to insure that press is in top working order for production and quality
Make sure that the press is properly greased and lubricated
Assist in changing and setting rollers when needed
Clean press and preform housekeeping in press area.
