About The Position

Mason County Garbage, a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a reliable and motivated Class B CDL Garbage Truck Driver to join their team in Shelton, WA. This is a full-time career opportunity with great pay, benefits, and the chance to be home every night. Previous waste industry experience is a plus but not required, as training is provided for the right person. The schedule is Monday-Friday, starting at 6 AM, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Employees can expect to average about 45 hours per week, with overtime eligibility, and will be home every night. The starting pay range is $27.75/hour, with opportunities for annual pay increases and bonuses.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement
Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)
Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice To Haves

Previous waste industry experience
Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
