Roll-Off Driver (Orlando FL)
About The Position
We are looking for a safety conscience Roll Off Driver to join the team at our Altamonte Springs, FL location. This role involves safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes, performing routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, and interacting courteously with customers. The job is physically demanding and requires the ability to load and unload, sometimes without assistance, and operate hydraulic controls to manage refuse. The work environment includes exposure to various weather conditions, fumes, vibration, and moderate noise levels, with some exposure to physical risks from moving mechanical parts. Safety precautions are essential.
Requirements
- Valid CDL (cannot have an automatic restriction for this role).
- Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
Nice To Haves
- Waste experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with our customers.
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
