About The Position

A Roll-Off Driver safely operates a heavy-duty truck and is responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large mobile open-top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities, and customer locations. Roll-off drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high-traffic roadways, and may operate in tight overhead environments while on industrial routes. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.

Requirements

  • Commercial Driver's License B (CDL)
  • Commercial Driver's License Class A or B with an airbrake endorsement is a plus.
  • Applicant must be 21 years of age.
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Complete Pre-Employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history, and motor vehicle record review.

Responsibilities

  • Operates vehicles in accordance with the Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and completes required paperwork.
  • Notifies the Route Manager or Dispatch of any customer complaints, incidents, on-site service issues, or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicates customer requests to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
  • Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs.
