About The Position

The Release of Information Specialist, Revenue Integrity, processes release-of-information requests for provider business office clients. Work may be performed from corporate offices or remotely, as determined. The specialist retrieves electronic documents from provider financial service systems, logs pertinent information, and transfers electronic document images into the Exchange Manager proprietary database. The role also uses external payer portals to upload records for expedited and secure distribution and may support multiple clients.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Proficient computer skills and accurate data-entry skills.
Ability to work effectively and independently in a high-volume production environment.
Dependability, organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Positive, teamwork-oriented attitude.

Nice To Haves

Some college.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Release of Information experience.
Experience retrieving information from computer databases.

Responsibilities

Use multiple electronic data systems, including EMR and provider financial service systems, to process information.
Manage the internal portal for assigning shipment information.
Manage external portals for distributing protected health information (PHI).
Meet short turnaround times to support revenue retention and prevent backlogs.
Communicate with team members and client representatives as needed to resolve issues.
Decide which specific record components to release or make available.
Review and apply HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance with privacy statutes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
