About The Position

Under appropriate supervision and/or designated direction, the Carpenter performs semi-skilled carpentry work involved in construction, performs related and other work as required in a safe and efficient manner. Requirements

Four (4) years of experience in work involving a variety of layout, installation, and maintenance tasks.
Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education.
Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management.
Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work.

Ability to plan and coordinate construction activities.

Responsibilities

Inspects work sites to take dimensions, layout work, and estimate materials required.
Builds concrete forms, prepares foundations, and pours concrete.
Uses a variety of hand, power, and shop tools and maintains them in proper operating condition.
Works from sketches, blueprints, or pictures.
Inspects, analyzes, and assists in the determination of the carpentry work to be done.
Estimates amounts of materials and equipment needed for various types of carpentry construction work.
Determines methods and materials needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
If needed performs lock-out and tag-out procedures to secure deactivate equipment and checks local switch point to ensure proper lock-out procedures are used.
Performs work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
May require working in operating facilities and observing and abiding by additional safety policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
