About The Position

As a Y Climbing Wall Instructor, you’ll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Y Climbing Wall Instructor plans and instructs classes in rock climbing. You will lead and supervise activities to demonstrate rock climbing skill for all learning levels of a particular class. As a Y Climbing Wall Instructor, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

Requirements

A love of fitness and people
A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
Some prior experience with rock climbing
The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people.
Associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
