About The Position

The Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Rock Wall Instructor to plan and instruct classes in rock climbing. This role involves providing participants with pertinent information, efficient service, and instructing all classes within the guidelines of the Association to maintain program quality. The instructor will demonstrate a commitment to the Y of Central Maryland's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of job performance.

Requirements

Knowledge of safety rules for program area.
Successful completion of the Y of Central Maryland Belay training within 30 days of hire.
First aid and CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
Abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth, which sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people.
Treat youth with respect and fairness, avoiding inappropriate physical or verbal interactions, and adhering to established standards of affection.
Complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of rock climbing/belay experience strongly preferred.
