About The Position

Support the daily operations of the Rock Wall by promoting safe climbing practices and maintaining a clean, well-supervised environment. Assist with event planning, participant tracking, and equipment checks to ensure a positive and safe experience for all users. Uphold policies and actively engage in team meetings and trainings to support overall program success. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of climbing techniques.
  • Ability to teach effectively in one-on-one or group situations.
  • Ability to push and pull 50 pounds of weight.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED, or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • Must be a UND student.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of advanced rock climbing techniques and safe practices.
  • Experience with outdoor, sport, lead, or traditional climbing.
  • PCIA (Professional Climbers In America ) Certification or similar

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support safe climbing practices during open hours and special events.
  • Accurately tie, check, and verify climbing knots and equipment for safe use.
  • Track participation and complete shift reports using facility management software.
  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of climbing events and competitions
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free climbing environment through regular inspections and sanitation tasks.
  • Enforce safety, participant, and employee policies set by Team Wellness & Health Promotion.
  • Attend required trainings and actively participate in team meetings.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
