About The Position

Black Cape is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team supporting SOCOM. This role involves working closely with Special Operations mission teams to develop cloud-native full-stack web applications, advanced data analysis tools, and machine learning capabilities. The engineer will be responsible for developing technical solutions on an aggressive schedule, applying proven software, technical, and analytical approaches, and interacting frequently with end users. The work will take place at customer sites up to 5 days per week, within a classified government environment. Black Cape is a technology company focused on full-stack web applications, advanced data analysis tools, and integrating AI/ML capabilities for federal government customers, with a reputation for being a COOL and FUN crew that works hard and plays hard.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
TS/SCI clearance (no poly required)
0-5 years of professional development experience
Experience with an object oriented language like Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#
Experience with at least ONE MVC framework, perhaps including Spring, Django, Flask or Rails
Experience with web frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS
Working knowledge of web application tools like HTTP, HTML, REST, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with Linux systems including RedHat-based distributions
Experience working with agile software development teams
Experience working in classified government environments
Experience developing on MacOS, Windows, and Linux
US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

Experience with containers, Docker, and kubernetes
Experience with AWS Console including but not limited to lite management of EC2 instances
Background communicating to senior stakeholders in a classified environment
CompTIA Security+ certification

Responsibilities

Work on full stack engineering to support mission users.
Work close to Special Operations mission teams and have a direct impact on mission success.
Develop cloud-native full-stack web applications, advanced data analysis tools, and machine learning capabilities.
Develop technical solutions on an aggressive schedule.
Apply proven, repeatable software, technical, and analytical approaches to build solutions.
Have frequent interaction with end users to produce and deploy solutions.
Bring experience in building, integrating and deploying AI/ML solutions using Google TensorFlow, Python scikit-learn, and other tools.
Combine lessons learned from developing and deploying applications to customer cloud environments with industry best practices in Agile development and DevOps.
