About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Robotics (STEM) Instructor to lead an exciting after-school robotics program for elementary-aged students. This is a part-time opportunity ideal for someone who is passionate about STEM education, highly organized, and confident in managing a classroom of young learners. NOTE: All classes will be held at a YMCA location. You will have the opportunity to interview for as many locations that will fit in your schedule. All locations hold class on a different day, so times won't conflict. Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational or enrichment setting
  • Experience teaching STEM or robotics preferred (training support may be provided)
  • Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Able to lead structured, hands-on activities independently
  • Dependable, punctual, and enthusiastic about teaching
  • Ability to Commute: Hopewell, NJ 08525 (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Background in education, child development, STEM, or related fields
  • Familiarity with common educational robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO® Education, Dash & Dot, VEX, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver hands-on robotics lessons and STEM activities for students in grades K–5
  • Use age-appropriate robotics kits and materials to teach fundamental STEM concepts
  • Maintain a well-structured, engaging, and positive classroom environment
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and ensure student safety and participation
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of various learning styles and skill levels
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and parents
