About The Position

AMA is seeking a summer intern to support the NASA Langley Research Center Autonomous Integrated Systems Research Branch. In this position, you will develop control interfaces and operational documentation for robotic manipulators, positioners, and rovers. You will gain experience working with other engineers, software developers, and researchers in an agile environment to meet deliverables, as well as participate in code reviews. On-site work at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA is requested of candidates who meet the facility requirement of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency. Pay for this position is $23.10 - $33.50, depending on education and location. Requirements

  • Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools
  • Ability to work with hardware and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Must attend a Virginia school or be a permanent resident of Virginia
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2
  • Experience with serial communication
