About The Position

The Advanced Robot Manipulators Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology, led by Prof. Long Wang, is seeking a Part-Time Robotics and Mechatronics Engineer Intern to support sponsored research in advanced robotic manipulation systems. This position contributes to an ongoing DHA-funded research project focused on dexterous robotic hands, tactile sensing, and human-robot interaction. The intern will work closely with graduate students, faculty, and external industry partners in a collaborative research environment.

Requirements

  • Part-Time availability
  • Interest in advanced robotic manipulation systems
  • Ability to work closely with graduate students, faculty, and industry partners
  • Familiarity with design and development of robotic hardware
  • Experience with fabrication, machining, and rapid prototyping
  • Knowledge of tactile sensors and embedded systems integration
  • Experience conducting laboratory experiments and data collection
  • Skills in system testing, debugging, and performance evaluation
  • Ability to document experimental procedures, results, and technical findings
  • Strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of robotic hand and manipulation hardware
  • Support fabrication, machining, and rapid prototyping of mechanical components
  • Integrate tactile sensors and embedded systems into robotic platforms
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and assist with data collection and analysis
  • Participate in system testing, debugging, and performance evaluation
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and technical findings
  • Collaborate with research team members on ongoing project development
