About The Position

The Robotic Welder Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of the robotic welder. This role involves programming, setting up, adjusting, and operating robotic weld equipment, as well as performing basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The operator will also develop and improve robotic welding processes, conduct quality control checks on production parts, and operate the robotic welding machine for various welding tasks. Additionally, the role requires monitoring and maintaining welder consumables, using various tools and equipment, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. Maintaining production data and reports, adhering to safety standards, and performing additional duties as assigned are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, manufacturing drawings or similar information.
  • Must be able to write legibly and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to seventy-five pounds, as well as lift and move heavier objects with the assistance of cranes, forklifts, or another employee.
  • Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
  • Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of prior work experience working with programming and operating robotic welding machines preferred.
  • Two years of industrial welding experience preferred.
  • Understanding of welding quality.
  • Self-motivated, initiates work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set-up, adjust and operate robotic weld equipment.
  • Conduct basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of equipment.
  • Develop new and improve existing robotic welding processes.
  • Perform QC checks on production parts.
  • Operate robotic welding machine to weld separately or in combination with manual welding.
  • Monitor, select and install welder consumables as needed.
  • Use tools, equipment, and technology, including hand or power tools, manufacturing/operations equipment and computerized or automated systems.
  • Maintain work area(s) in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain production data and reports.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the company safety policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
