About The Position

This position is for a Resistance and Arc Weld Robotic Technician. The role involves operating welding fixtures for quality assurance checks and diagnosing operational issues. Technicians will perform full setup and tear down of projection and robotic welders, including fixturing. They will also be responsible for bypassing fixtures and controls of robotic/projection weld cells, and disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling welding fixtures. The role requires calculating mathematical robotic weld adjustments based on QA reports and interpreting weld data from robots to make adjustments to weld angles and parameters with engineer assistance. Reading and deciphering weld fixture component blueprints is also a key responsibility. The technician will work overtime and weekends as needed to support the assembly welding department and complete all assigned PM documentation, reporting fixture wear and maintaining organized documentation.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated attitude towards PM completion and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Intermediate mechanical skills, including understanding and operating general tools such as wrenches, drivers, and some pneumatic tools.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Able to work safely and move at a moderate to fast pace across specified terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs on a routine basis.
  • Ability to manipulate medium to large objects, materials, or tools on a routine basis.
  • Ability to use arms/legs continually and repeatedly over an extended period.
  • Must have shift and overtime flexibility including some weekends.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding fixtures for quality assurance checks and to diagnose issues.
  • Perform full setup and tear down functions for projection and robotic welders, including fixturing.
  • Bypass fixtures and controls of a robotic / projection weld cell.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble welding fixtures in a reasonable time frame.
  • Calculate mathematical robotic weld adjustments as needed from QA reports.
  • Interpret weld data from robots and make proper adjustments to weld angles and parameters (with engineer assistance).
  • Read and decipher weld fixture component blueprints.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed to support the assembly welding department.
  • Complete all PM documentation as assigned.
  • Report fixture wear to the proper channels for escalation of repair.
  • Maintain documentation in a readily accessible and organized manner.
