Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Technical expertise in at least one area, and competence in several others
  • Professional Engineering Status
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise in one or more functional capability
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team of technician personnel

Responsibilities

  • Manages group of project engineers accountable to deliver their own portfolio of projects from inception to completion
  • Influences project delivery strategy, including value for money, risk and technology considerations
  • Ensures projects are implemented in line with identified AstraZeneca policies, procedures and standards, to achieve agreed scope and cost
  • Consults to clients on developing their own capital plans and all other areas of their project management
  • Reviews estimates & programmes for project work packages to ensure they meet agreed business targets
  • Manages the progress & expenditure of projects within own business area
  • Ensures compliance with engineering, safety and work standards
  • Manages the relationship with key clients and portfolio managers, within own business area and across site
  • Acts as the main point of contact for all communication into, out of and across the group
  • Contributes to ongoing development and performance enhancement of the project management function by measuring and monitoring key performance indicators of project delivery
  • Manages the co-ordination of resources within the business teams and across the department
  • Acts as lead engineer for a significant functional engineering area
  • Communicates business needs and helps translate these needs into requirements
