About The Position

The Robotic Cell Operator is responsible for setting up, loading, and operating a robotic machining cell to grind and polish metal items after the initial forging process. The goal is to meet established production rates. This role involves performing minor maintenance on equipment, transporting tools, and completing necessary documentation and data entry.

Requirements

  • Must have three (3) to six (6) months of related experience and/or training.
  • Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day
  • Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus on work.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have knowledge of plant machining operations.
  • Must have had at least three (3) months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must display mechanical aptitude and knowledge of plant machining operations.
  • Must demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Able to stand eight hours or more per day. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
  • Acceptable attendance, quality, productivity, safety, cooperation in previous positions.

Responsibilities

  • Setups and initiates program for robotic machining cell and changes fixtures on robot for corresponding tool to be machined.
  • Loads forgings into correct position on pallet drawers and removes machined tool when complete to meet the established rates of production.
  • Perform necessary replacement and balancing of grinding/polishing wheels and belts and performs necessary adjustments of tension.
  • Performs minor maintenance on equipment, such as: replacing broken pneumatic hoses and cleaning blower tube, etc.
  • Transports tools to and from appropriate staging areas.
  • Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
