About The Position

Agile Robots is seeking a motivated, hands-on, and technically capable Robot Service & Support Engineer to serve as a technical contact for customers. This role involves performing deployment, operation, and physical repairs of our robotic systems, blending digital troubleshooting with hands-on electromechanical service and repair. The team works closely with R&D and customers to ensure robots operate reliably in real-world environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical circuits, hand tools, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, or PLC logic).
  • A "tinkerer" mindset with a strong desire to take things apart and understand how they work.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, locally and throughout the U.S., for hands-on service, training, systems installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in intensive training programs covering robot kinematics, electrical control systems, and proprietary software, working towards becoming a subject matter expert in the mechanical assembly and disassembly of our robotic systems.
  • Provide initial responses to customer inquiries via phone and email, assisting in diagnosing basic mechanical and software issues, and escalating complex cases to Tier 2/3 support as needed.
  • Perform on-site and in-house repairs, including replacing motors, sensors, cabling, and structural components, and conduct preventative maintenance checks to ensure hardware longevity.
  • Utilize schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic log files to identify root causes for performance issues and system failures.
  • Assist in the creation of "lessons learned" reports and internal service notes, and update FAQ articles based on common entry-level troubleshooting queries.
  • Shadow senior engineers during site visits and collaborative meetings with Manufacturing and R&D to understand the product lifecycle and common field challenges.
  • Maintain the local service kit and tools, ensuring all diagnostic equipment is calibrated and spare parts are organized for rapid deployment.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision insurance, and 401k.
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning in cutting-edge robotics technology.
