Robot Operations Technician · Launch Network

Robot.comMiami, FL
Onsite

About The Position

We're building the Launch Network — a hand-picked group of independent field operators trained to deploy and run our R noids at live demo events across the US. You'll be among the first people in the world to operate next-generation humanoid robots in real commercial environments, in front of real audiences. This isn't a traditional scheduled role. Once you complete training and join the network, you'll be notified whenever a project opens in your area. You choose which engagements to take — no minimums, no rigid schedules. Just good work when it works for you.

Requirements

  • Technical aptitude. Hands-on experience with robotics, electromechanical systems, AV/tech operations, or similar. You know how to troubleshoot when things get weird.
  • Physical capability. You can stand 8+ hours, handle humanoid hardware, and adapt to different venue setups.
  • Professionalism & communication. Strong verbal and written skills in English and/or Spanish. You're comfortable in front of people.
  • Reliability & focus. You follow procedures, stay sharp during long sessions, and don't cut corners.
  • Adaptability. You pick up new systems fast and take feedback well.
  • Availability to travel. You're genuinely ready to travel across the US for projects. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating humanoid or mobile robots in commercial or research settings.
  • Background in live event production, trade shows, or technical demos.
  • Great spatial awareness, physical coordination, and the ability to master new tasks fast.
  • A real passion for getting robots into the world — not just talking about it.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the R noid throughout demo sessions — catching bugs or performance issues before they become problems.
  • Run startup, configuration, and shutdown procedures according to our standard operating protocols.
  • Guide the R noid through programmed routines and live tasks during demos.
  • Log, document, and escalate technical issues to the engineering team using our designated tracking tools.
  • Collect and process operational data — label it and upload it into our AI training and reporting systems.
  • Keep the environment safe for everyone on-site. Always.
  • Represent Robot.com in front of clients, partners, and the public — and make us proud.

Benefits

  • Compensation details — including per-project rates and travel reimbursement terms — are spelled out in each project post.
  • Rates vary by scope, location, and duration.
  • Payment is issued upon receipt of a valid invoice after completion.
  • A Form W-9 is required before your first engagement; IRS Form 1099-NEC is issued for total payments of $600 or more in a calendar year.
