About The Position

The Robot Field Operator delivers, sets up, operates, and safely returns rental robots for customer events (trade shows, store openings, performances, weddings, and similar events). The Operator is the on-site person responsible for keeping the robot working, keeping guests safe, and representing RoboShare professionally in front of customers.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; comfortable driving a cargo van or box truck.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs (robots and cases) and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Comfortable with mobile apps and handheld remote controls.
  • Careful and rule-following: safety procedures must be followed exactly, with no unauthorized changes to the operating process.
  • Conversational English (must communicate with customers and guests on site).
  • Mandarin Chinese language skills (required for internal coordination and equipment documentation).
  • Must complete and pass the company’s two-day operator training and assessment (provided and paid by the company).

  • Experience in event production, trade shows, stage work, security, or equipment rental.
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting or maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned robots: battery level, preset motions, and remote controls all working.
  • Load robots and equipment into the vehicle, drive to the event site, and unload.
  • Set up the display area: locate power, place safety barriers, and position the robots.
  • Operate robots by remote control using preset, pre-approved motions (waving, walking, performance routines).
  • Stay next to the robot at all times. Robots are never left unattended while powered on.
  • Manage the crowd: keep guests at a safe distance and prevent unauthorized touching, especially by children.
  • Swap and charge batteries during the event as needed.
  • If anything goes wrong, press the emergency stop first, then report to the Operations Lead immediately. Do not admit fault or discuss liability with anyone on site.
  • Pack, load, and transport robots and equipment back.
  • Complete the fulfillment record for the day, including site photos.
