About The Position

A growing firm is looking to add a Roadway Project Manager to their team to manage roadway/highway design projects from start to finish. This role involves preparing project scopes, budgets, and schedules, monitoring project progress, leading internal teams, and serving as the primary client contact for various agencies. The position also includes developing proposals, overseeing QA/QC processes, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or degree in Civil Engineering
8+ years of experience working on IDOT, Illinois Counties, and Illinois Local Agencies transportation projects
Illinois Professional Engineer license
Demonstrated knowledge of IDOT standards, procedures, and project delivery process
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to maintain budget, schedule, and quality objectives
Proficient with roadway design tools such as MicroStation/OpenRoads or similar CAD platforms and Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting
Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Manage roadway/highway design projects from start to finish (geometric design, drainage coordination, maintenance of traffic and traffic control plans)
Prepare project scopes, budgets, and schedules
Monitor progress of multiple projects, manage risks, and implement corrective actions
Lead internal multidisciplinary teams
Serve as primary client contact for IDOT districts and local agencies
Coordinate projects with utility companies, permitting agencies, and other stakeholders
Develop proposals, scopes, and fee estimates for new pursuits
Oversee QA/QC processes
Ensure project documentation is complete and accurate (calculations, meeting minutes, and deliverables)
Mentor/train junior staff
