About The Position

A growing firm is looking to add a Roadway Project Manager to their team to manage roadway/highway design projects from start to finish. This role involves geometric design, drainage coordination, maintenance of traffic, and traffic control plans. The Project Manager will be responsible for preparing project scopes, budgets, and schedules, monitoring project progress, managing risks, and leading internal multidisciplinary teams. They will also serve as the primary client contact for IDOT districts and local agencies, coordinate projects with utility companies and permitting agencies, and develop proposals and fee estimates. Additionally, the role includes overseeing QA/QC processes, ensuring project documentation is complete, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or degree in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience working on IDOT, Illinois Counties, and Illinois Local Agencies transportation projects
  • Illinois Professional Engineer license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IDOT standards, procedures, and project delivery process
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain budget, schedule, and quality objectives
  • Proficient with roadway design tools such as MicroStation/OpenRoads or similar CAD platforms and Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities
