About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Project Manager to join our Raleigh, NC office. Your role will be to function as the project manager and/or roadway design lead for routine to semi-complex projects. Responsibilities may include marketing, negotiating contracts, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination, and resource allocation. You will provide the expertise of a seasoned engineer to all conventional aspects of the functional area and apply advanced concepts and techniques to unconventional engineering problems. You may function as an individual researcher or technical specialist. You will uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct. You will perform and supervise designs utilizing CAD. You will plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications. You will develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution. You will analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions. You may assist other offices by providing design and plans production support. You will coordinate work with other project managers and guide junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans. You will be responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others. You will attend meetings with clients with other members of the project team. You will organize or direct field visits to collect data or resolve design conflicts. You may train less experienced junior professionals, designers, and CAD technicians as required. You will perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Requirements

  • B.S/M.S. in Engineering (Civil).
  • 10-15 years of experience in roadway design and local streets.
  • PE required in NC.
  • NCDOT experience.
  • Experience using MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
  • Experience using AutoTURN.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Solid oral and written communications skills, capable of developing technical writing.

  • Incumbent may be eligible for project management training.
