The Roadway Programs Technician 1 role for the Department of Transportation offers an exciting opportunity to support roadway maintenance efforts that keep Greene County moving. This position supports roadway maintenance planning and operations by reviewing data, monitoring field activities, and helping staff maintain accurate records. It plays an important role in ensuring that resources are used wisely and that maintenance goals are met.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Examine work plans and assist management staff in adjusting labor, materials, equipment, and funding needs
  • Evaluate database information to help track goals and maintain system accuracy
  • Observe maintenance operations and gather field data to support development of work standards
  • Track materials, monitor supply levels, and support storeroom and stockpile functions
  • Review work data to ensure adherence to performance measures and report deficiencies
  • Visit accident sites, document conditions, and support preparation of Reimbursable Activity Reports

Benefits

  • Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).
