With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners. HNTB’s Tampa, FL office is seeking a Roadway Engineer II to join our Engineering design team. Our team is currently working on some of the most complex projects in Florida for FDOT and a variety of local government clients. We are dedicated to enhancing our communities, solving infrastructure challenges for our client. As a Roadway Engineer II, you will coordinate and deliver transportation engineering projects within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start-up through project closeout. These projects can range from small intersection and multimodal corridor improvement projects to large interchanges, multimodal improvements, low impact bridge construction projects and feasibility projects. Duties include roadway design, development of cost estimates, specifications, corridor modelling, public engagement, and feasibility and express design development. Our team’s approach is to confidently deliver performance on every project and deliver projects with quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience
  • Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric and algebraic principles in your work.
  • Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • FDOT Experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
  • Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
  • Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.
  • Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
  • Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
