About The Position

Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Roadway Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in our Birmingham or Huntsville office. This role assists in the design of a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and trails, complex interchanges, roundabouts and intersection improvements. The Associate will collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve a variety of complex problems. Responsibilities include assisting in the analysis, preparation or modification of technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications and permits for projects. The role also involves using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents, and participating in project site visits with other project team members, as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail and the ability to learn Alabama Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures, as well as standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A/E industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited program

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer Intern / Engineering in Training Certification, preferred
  • Experience utilizing Microstation/Openroads software, preferred
