About The Position

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Roadway Engineering Associate to join our team in Nashville, TN. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of roadway design experience.
• Engineer Intern (EI) / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly WORD and EXCEL.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important.
• Working knowledge of utilizing AASHTO and MUTCD roadway design materials

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and greenways, interchanges, intersections and roundabouts
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve issues and develop effective solutions
• Assist in the analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, and permits for projects.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare engineering and design documents/drawings
• Accompany design team on site visits and client meetings as needed.
• Learn and apply TN Department of Transportation (TDOT) guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Ensure tasks are completed promptly and meet quality expectations.
