Parsons is now hiring for a Roadway Engineer I to join our team supporting major regional road and highway projects in the San Diego and Oakland areas. This position is an in office role, reporting into and collaborating closely with our San Diego-based roadway group. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • 3 years or more of related work experience with road and highway projects
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is essential
  • Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or OpenRoads, is required
  • The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team
  • The ability to guide and manage younger staff in completing tasks and hitting deliverable deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate often with senior engineers, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity
  • Utilize drafting and modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs
  • Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
  • Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
