About The Position

This role is responsible for changing primarily commercial tires, including loader and farm tires, but may also involve changing passenger, light truck, loader, farm, ATV, and lawn and garden tires. The technician will perform tire repairs, replacements, and general service to tires and wheels. This includes removing or replacing mounted tire assemblies from vehicles, recognizing repairable tires, and properly performing repairs while discarding those that are not repairable. The technician must communicate all work performed through legible writing on tags, work orders, and/or invoices, and perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Daily maintenance of tools and equipment is also required, along with reviewing service work orders for complete information before submitting them. The role may also involve miscellaneous job duties as needed to ensure prompt customer service. A willingness to prioritize customer satisfaction and flexibility to adapt to changing job priorities due to customer needs is essential.

Requirements

  • Driver's License & clean driving record required
  • DOT Medical card required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • Automotive roadside experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Changing primarily commercial tires, loader and farm, but may change passenger, light truck, loader, farm, ATV and/or lawn and garden
  • Perform tire repairs, replacements, and general service to tires and wheels
  • Remove or replace mounted tire assembly from vehicles
  • Recognize repairable tires and properly perform repair and discard tires that are not repairable
  • Communicate all work performed via legible writing on tags, work orders and/or invoices
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Use all provided safety equipment such as gloves, jack stands, wheel chocks, air cages, safety glasses and communicate equipment needs
  • Report all tools or equipment that need repair or that are broken and report all unsafe actions, problems or abnormal situations to the store manager or safety manager
  • Perform daily maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Review service work orders for complete information such as required customer information, repairs, mounts, new tires, valves before giving to the store manager
  • Ensure that all products leave with proper paperwork
  • As needed, perform miscellaneous job duties to ensure prompt services to our customer
  • Willing to make customer satisfaction a number one priority, must be flexible and understand that job priorities will constantly change due to customer needs
