Road Technician 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment problems, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The work is intended to keep equipment operating and avoid downtime while following safe and effective practices. Fleet types vary by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and, at specialty locations, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role may involve working on varied equipment in remote locations and offers on-the-job training and potential career development in service or operations management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required depending on location.
- Mechanic's tools of the trade may be needed.
