About The Position

The Road Service Advisor I is responsible for managing over-the-road maintenance issues, ensuring fast, low-cost repairs for drivers, customers, operators, and the company. You will coordinate services, manage travel and accommodations, maintain compliance records, and support drivers with operational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Up to 95% of the time spent sitting and working on a computer, using a phone, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of experience in transportation or trucking
  • Associate's degree in Heavy Duty Truck Technology or a related field
  • Knowledge of diesel truck maintenance and industry best practices

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and discretion when interacting with drivers, vendors, customers, and colleagues.
  • Answer breakdown and accident calls, arrange appropriate services, and follow up until resolved.
  • Coordinate driver accommodations and travel arrangements for returns, initial seating, terminations, and emergencies.
  • Create, maintain, and review DOT and permit books for accuracy and compliance.
  • Retrieve invoices, issue EFS Money and EFS Credit Card codes, and process vendor purchases through Concur.
  • Prepare and ship parts, paperwork, license plates, and permit books via FedEx.
  • Update File Maintenance systems for DOT/federal inspections and driver-truck assignments.
  • Instruct drivers on the operation of company equipment.
  • Use tools like tractor GPS and vendor databases to locate service providers quickly.
  • Apply the correct fleet codes to corresponding cost centers.
  • Serve as a representative of the Company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Koch community, customers and with the public.
  • Cross training as required.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
