About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment at customer locations. This role aims to minimize downtime by ensuring the safest and most effective repairs. The fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment. The position offers opportunities to work on various makes and models in challenging remote locations, develop new skills for career advancement in service or operations management, and work with a team in a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
1 to 3 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more.
Working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.
Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.
