About The Position

Benton County is actively looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to serve as a Road Maintenance Worker 3. This position involves operating heavy equipment that requires considerable knowledge of equipment capability, the county road system, and road system structures. This position is distinguished from the Road Maintenance Worker 1 (Light) and (Medium) classifications by the types of equipment assigned, complexity of work performed, and the level of decision making. This position can be filled at a 2 or 3 level depending on qualifications. Applicants who meet the qualifications for the Road Maintenance Worker 2 are encouraged to apply. This posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies and establish a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or two-year technical certificate; and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in position or specialization.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid Oregon CDL Class A driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must obtain an ODOT Flagger card within 6 months after hire.
  • Must obtain a First Aid/CPR/AED within 6 months after hire.
