This role involves supporting various infrastructure projects including road repairs, paving, drainage systems, and general site clean-up. Requirements

Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of manual duties, often in a utility capacity, transferring between projects or tasks as needed.
Support various infrastructure projects including road repairs, paving, drainage systems, and general site clean-up.
Measure distance from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch tight lines, and grade stacks from lumber for reuse.
Level earth to fine grade specifications with a shovel to assist in pipe laying, preparing subgrades, and other excavations.
Direct other laborers in dumping concrete into forms.
Erect shoring and braces and paint pipe joints with sealing compound.
Assist in setting pumps and setting well-points.
May assist heavy construction equipment operators in aligning and moving equipment such as cranes, power shovels, and backhoes, verifying grades and signaling operators to adjust machines to conform to grade specifications.
Direct truck drivers and scraper operators to dumping positions to maintain grades as directed by Grading Foreman or Dumping Foreman.
Work in a concrete paving crew, adding to or removing concrete from in front of concrete finishing machines to meet correct grade.
Occasionally use small power tools.
May work as a lead man in a labor crew.
Exercise considerable independent judgment to plan routine work, accepting responsibility for several phases and expediting work without detailed instruction.
