About The Position

The Road Foreman will oversee and manage all aspects of road construction and maintenance projects in the Abilene, TX area for Primoris Heavy Civil. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, adhering to all quality standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role focusing on road construction.
  • Proven knowledge of road construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project planning, scheduling, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Further education or technical training in construction management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of road crews, including laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work tasks, ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, enforce safety protocols, and address any safety concerns immediately.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Track and report on project progress, material usage, and labor hours.
  • Operate and inspect heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation.
  • Train and mentor crew members, fostering a skilled and productive workforce.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, clients, and other relevant parties.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, reports, and timecards.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of materials and supplies.
