About The Position

Cooke County is seeking a part-time Road and Bridge Crewmember for Precinct 2 located in Valley View. This role involves operating heavy equipment for road and bridge maintenance and construction, cutting brush and trees, performing routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs, and repairing/replacing road signs. The position requires the ability to understand and follow instructions and perform specialized skilled work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
• Must be capable of performing specialized skilled work in the operation of one or more types of motorized heavy equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver's License issued by the State of Texas.
• Minimum of one year experience driving heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more types of motorized heavy equipment such as bulldozers, compactors, front-end loaders, graders, backhoes, semitractors, etc., used in the maintenance and construction of roads and bridges.
• Cut brush, trees, and other growth at roadsides, utilizing power equipment such as mowers, tractors, and chain saws.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Repair and replace road signs.
